  • Welcome to The Los Angeles Film School’s Game Production Associate of Science Degree Program!

Game-Makers Wanted! Our new Associate of Science Game Production Degree Program is entrepreneurial and designed to combine both the theory and practical application of interactive media production in a dynamic and creative environment.

Push the envelope, then go beyond the classroom and become an active member of our lively campus and Hollywood. Turn the worlds of your imagination into playable interactive games. Learn what’s made great games through ancient and modern times and appreciate play from a global perspective.

Explore the business of games as well as the people and companies who have made history. Dive deep into the essence of game theory by creating your own “pen and paper” games. Become a story-teller in the nonlinear world of interactive media through the use of dynamic circumstances and puzzle solving.

Grasp the tools of the trade to create original game art, characters, objects, and environments while developing your artistic technique. Jump into programming and learn the technology to bring your creations to life. Build and maintain reliable pipelines for art, audio, and cinematic assets while developing leadership and production skills.

Pitch your original team-based project, get green-lit, and finally shepherd your game from design to prototype to final release. Then, bring all the pieces together in a microcosmic production environment modeled after the games industry.

Our goal is to provide you with inspiration, knowledge and unprecedented exposure into the games industry that will qualify you for industry jobs such as: independent game producer, associate game designer, game tester, project coordinator, mastering lab technician, production assistant, project manager, online game support representative, staff assistant and more.

In addition to technical and artistic proficiency, your education will aid you in becoming more successful in managing your professional career, providing you with tools to help sustain a long and productive future in the interactive entertainment (games) industry.

Spend quality time with our faculty, get up close and personal with industry guests, and log real time in a simulated work environment as you prepare to begin your career in the world of game production. Because a foundation in general education is as important as knowing the most current techniques and equipment, you’ll learn basic industry skills that include time management, written communication, and how to prepare for that first step into the industry.

And with your success in mind, The Los Angeles Film School’s Career Development Department is there to provide guidance as you interview for internships and entry-level jobs in the interactive entertainment industry. In addition, our career development services continue to be available to you throughout your career.

    Admission Requirements
Applicants must be proficient in the Windows operating system and demonstrate an acceptable command of the English language. A passion for games and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment is essential for success.
