The Game
Development and Entrepreneurship program at UOIT is designed to provide students with a
wide range of game design and programming expertise. Students are
introduced to game technology and theory, and to the artistic and
creative aspects of game development. An innovative gaming and virtual
reality laboratory is central to the program and features
state-of-the-art equipment, including 30 Dell XPS 720 workstations,
motion capture facilities, an audiometric (sound) room, and 3D (stereo
projector) displays. Students aquire business and management knowledge
and develop entrepreneurial skills, allowing graduates to quickly
advance their careers in the game industry as employees or entrepreneurs
in charge of developing and managing their own gaming businesses. Graduates
can expect to pursue careers as game designers, project managers, game
project managers, simulation specialists (military and civil domain),
industrial ergonomics, technical marketing and advertising in the media
and internet world.
Students may take business minor courses to obtain a minor in Marketing.
