The Herzing University Game Design Program is located at the Herzing Madison Campus. Offering high quality education focused on Game Design, students gain experience through topical classwork aimed at both indie and AAA industries. The program has grown to be recognized leader in producing quality graduates for the game development industry.
Students learn in a studio based environment where the focus is upon high quality finished products. Students will work both individually and in development teams to create portfolio suitable work. Courses build upon each other to create an educational flow that is both challenging and rewarding. Students will have the ability to dive deeply into their preferred fields when working in team settings, thus enhancing their ability to even better compete for employment upon graduation.
Gradautes from Herzing's Game Development Program are employed in both the Indie and AAA development fields, working in positions such as quality control, project management, hud design, artist (2D and 3D), programming, producer, project lead, serious game developer, and designer.
In addistion to the core development courses, students take a well rounded set of general education courses to further develop their ability to communicate, problem solve, and self manage themselves.
Students in the program are strongly encouraged to be part of the thriving community by joining the IGDA Student Chapter (Madtown IGDA - Student Chapter), and participating in the local Game Jams and frequent community game development events.
