The College, which has good links with various games and animation houses in Scotland, offers Higher National Certificate/Diploma courses in Filmcraft and Animation. You’ll study 2D/3D animation both traditional and digital, with opportunities to experiment in Claymation, storyboarding, and digital art. Software includes 3D Studio Max, Character Studio, Lightwave, Maya, and Adobe PhotoShop. First year studies feature extensive 2D work, Film Theory and Cinema Studies, digital art, storyboarding and sound and video work. 2nd year studies for students progressing to the Diploma course will concentrate on 3D work, movement studies, model making, narrative structure in storytelling and a comprehensive series of projects resulting in the completion of an electronic portfolio of art and animation. You’ll use custom built labs, and state of the art software, in a residential campus within a countryside setting; 30 minutes from Glasgow & Edinburgh. Articulation routes to various Universities are currently under discussion.
