Northumbria University is set in the heart of Newcastle, with a vibrant student community. Newcastle is well known as a "party town" and the stunning Northumbia countryside and coast are easily accessible. The University has a deserved reputation for the quality of it's teaching provision and scores very highly in the Sunday Times university listing, often getting "best new university".
Northumbria's games degrees are very highly thought of by the games industry. Speaking about the Software engineering degree the MD of a local games company gave the following quotes:
"The level of talent and enthusiasm displayed by graduates from the course is a credit to Northumbria University."
"A strong mix of theory and practice makes this course a winner."
"For a course that teaches the theory and the practical skills to develop games, Northumbria Uni's course is second to none."
Speaking about the Design and Production degree, a studio executive at Ubisoft said "There is a shortage of good game designers in the industry. This programme really hits the nail on the head with the right curriculum."
