The Computer Animation courses at GCADT have recently been officially recognised as one of the top in the UK for graduates wanting to enter the Computer Games Industry. Glamorgan was amongst the first ever animation courses to receive the industry's official seal of approval announced by the government training-standards in education watchdog Skillset.This official "Kite-Mark" or "Seal of Approval" singles Glamorgan out as one of the top three training providers for animation in the UK and comes with significant animation-industry backing, support and recognition.
In addition to this we have also now been awarded a second Skillset tick for training 3D Games Artists to the highest level in the UK, making us the only college in the whole of the country with two Skillset awards for its quality of teaching and training.
Computer Animation
You will have an introduction to 3D computer animation and 3D
digital art principles through a series of fundamental exercises, then
progress to advanced computer-based animation and 3D digital art.
During Years Two and Three students can opt to specialise in the
following areas:

- Animated Short Film-making
- 3D Computer Games Artist
- 3D Features Artist
- 3D Environmental Artist
- 3D Visualisation Artist
- 3D Visual Effects Artist
- 3D Pre-Vis Artist
- Live-Action and CG Compositor
- 3D Rigging Technician and 3D Digital Lighting Artist
