The East of England’s specialist centre for higher education in Art and design is launching a new Foundation Degree in Games Art and Design.

The two year course has been created to help meet both regional and national demands for new creative talent. The course features units in Gameplay and Interactivity, Animation Fundamentals, Games Concept and Art, 3D Modelling and Animation, and will feature work placement opportunities.

The course has a strong 3D Animation component, and has been built in consultation with industry representatives from Sony, EA, Codemasters, as well as local developers. The Foundation Degree format makes sure there is a strong vocational flavour, and the possibility of adding an extra year to attain a BA level qualification.
