  • California State University Channel Islands offers a classical Computer Science program that prepares the students to pursue diverse career paths. An Interdisciplinary Minor Degree in Game Design and Development has been established in response to the needs of the greater Los Angeles area game and entertainment industry that is seeking professionals with the skills for a variety of careers.

Students in this minor receive a foundation in artistic, mathematical, psychological and computer programming tools and techniques relevant to the design and development of computer games as well as in business methodologies applicable to the entertainment industry. CSUCI students majoring in Computer Science, Arts, Business, Math, Psychology, Biology, English, and others, are invited to enroll in the minor.

The Minor is a collaboration with The Educational Game Research Institute (Egris), a non-profit corporation that has been established to fund selected game development and related research by students and faculty at CSUCI and elsewhere.
