Located in the foothills of the Wasatch mountains in Ogden Utah, Weber State University offers a game development certificate in conjunction with the Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with an emphasis on Software Engineering. Best practices and skills needed have been defined and mapped to the software engineering bachelor's degree and gaps were determined to enter the game industry. From the gaps, a game development certifcate was established. The certificate consists of four courses (introduction to the game industry, game development I, game development II, and linear algebra). Pre-requisites include C++ program, physics, and either a bachelor's degree in software engineering including artificial intelligence, computer graphics, and compiler design or be pursuing the software engineering bachelor's degree.
