Are you interested not only in playing video games, but in how they work, and how technologies such as iPhone, social networks, and motion-sensing controllers are changing the games industry? If so, then this course is an ideal way for you to prepare for future study or employment in this sector. You will gain a broad understanding of games development and its growing applications in other fields and will be encouraged to explore your particular interest and skills.
A BTEC National Diploma is equivalent to three A-Levels grades A-E.
Course Details
You will learn by investigating and discussing in detail the processes and ideas behind video game content and business. Examples of areas covered throughout the course include 3D modelling, Flash game design and drawing concept art. You will also have the chance to extend a specific skill in a final major project.
Entry Requirements
You will normally need to have at least one of the following:
4 GCSEs at grade A-C (preferably including Maths and English)
A BTEC First Certificate or Diploma at Merit in a related subject
A GNVQ intermediate in an appropriate subject
Related work experience
