FZD School of Design was established by industry veteran Feng Zhu in 2009. For more than 14 years, Feng Zhu has contributed to some of the highest profiled projects in the entertainment industry. His broad design skills allowed him to reach across into many fields from hit movies, to triple-A games, memorable TV commercials and toy designs. Founding his own design company, Feng Zhu Design (FZD), his clients included Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Sony, Activision, Industrial Light+Magic, NCSoft, Warner Brothers, Lucasfilm, Bay Films, Epic Games, and many other top studios. In Hollywood, he has worked closely with well established directors including George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Michael Bay and Luc Besson.

FZD School of Design's focus are strictly in design and all the techniques associated with it. Students attending FZD are not artists, but production oriented designers who will understand the design industry and how to succeed in it.

FZD approaches every process from a three-dimensional stage; breaking everything down to its basic form. Students learn to think in "3D" and construct drawing according to proper perspectives, measurements, lighting, etc. This is an extremely difficult process to learn, but it is also one of the most essential part of being a good designer - the ability to conceive ideas and express them through properly drawn and rendered images. There is no "guessing" or "eye-balling" when it comes to drawing at FZD. The school's fundamental model is "draw what is really there, not just what you see."

FZD cater to both professionals looking to further their skills and to students who want to break into the design industry. The school's courses cover a wide range of design topics such as video games, feature films, theme park designs, consumer products, toys, TV commercials, and set designs. FZD focuses heavily on the importance of fundamentals skills and the proper ways to develop one's design abilities. FZD's aim is to mold students into professional designers with a broad range of skills and graduate with top notch portfolios.
