  • Game Institute offers a series of self-paced, online game development courses covering many of the latest cutting-edge technologies and techniques. Our courses are written and taught by successful industry authors and professional game developers. Whether you are a beginner who needs some help getting started, or you are an experienced game programmer looking to sharpen your skills, Game Institute is confident that you will discover a number of courses that perfectly suit both your experience and interest levels.

The Game Institute curriculum is divided into two main components (Foundation Studies and Advanced Studies) covering five major areas of study: programming languages, mathematics skills, 3D graphics pipeline programming, real-time game engine architectures, and artificial intelligence algorithms.

The Foundation Studies curriculum includes everything you need to get started: two C++ programming courses, a quick primer on high school level mathematics, an introductory course on 3D graphics programming techniques, and an easy to use level design tool with accompanying documentation.

The Advanced Studies program provides a thorough and rigorous examination of the concepts underlying 3D games and comparable simulations. Topics include the fixed function and programmable graphics pipelines, realistic lighting techniques, smooth animation, artificial intelligence, advanced physics modeling, software component design for real-time game applications. As you work your way through the program, you will build a suite of commercial-grade proprietary tools and engine components. Ultimately, you will emerge out the other side with a very impressive demo portfolio which you can take with you when you go to look for employment.

Courses are 10 to 14 weeks in length and range in price from $135 to $265.
