The Department of communication Systems at Lancaster University offers a unique master course that specialises in mobile games development. The course provides practical coverage of all major mobile development environments such as Symbian, J2ME, BREW, Flash Lite, and Python. The course has been devised by active group of researchers and developers in the field and boasts one of the Forum Nokia Champions, which is a group of 50 leading mobile developers selected by Nokia from a community of 2 million, as its lead academic. The projects developed by students are cutting edge in areas such as location based and proximity gaming and the group developed the worlds first mobile mixed reality RFID location based game. Additionally the course receives support from both Nokia and Symbian.
