Information Technology at NJIT is our applied computing degree. This versatile program offers concentrations in various areas including Game Programming, Game Design and Multimedia. Through these concentrations students earn a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology. Students studying game development will take courses covering that will teach and hone the student's skills towards one of the specialized areas of game development such as programming, 3d graphics, level design, game design and audio design. Throughout the degree program students will also be challenged to take courses outside of their chosen focus. All of our game related concentrations culminate a year long group project where student go through the process of designing, testing and developing a professional level game. Along the way industry adjuncts will guide and review their work. All of our students who graduate will have a solid portfolio. In addition to the game courses students will complete the requirements for a bachelors of science in information technology, so no matter what concentration is chosen the student will have a well rounded degree and solid understanding of computer science and information technology. We have no intention of offering a Game Design or Game Programming degree since we feel that that will limit a graduate's options in the field. Many of our alumni have already earned positions in the industry. Our school is conveniently located near Manhatten, where many of our alumni find employment.
