I just bought Some of D Atiste's books such as Character modelling 1 and 2 I also bought Concept Art and Digital Painting. They are amazing books!!!! The best books Ive ever bought. They show the artists work and tell how they got into the industry, it also has full picture tutorials on how to make some of their stuff. I was amazed at the quality of the book and the content. A definite for any of you out there trying to get into Game Art and Development

Depends on which books, they dont really go over all together "techniques" just how they do the main idea, as in they don't hold your hand through the exercises for that book would be huge >.< they mostly just tell you " well this is what I did"
But it is still interesting and they also have the artists job title how he got there and shows alot of their work |

they are great books, and well put together too, but they are wicked expensive.
way out of my price range. but very inspirational. to those without the cash for books like these, you will find all the info you ever need on games related art creation on the wonderful interweb. game-artist.net is a good one. 3dbuzz.com is another. there are a lot of them, and it might be an idea to get a sticky thread going with links to tutorials relevent to games development.
