For the Game Institute C++ stuff...
The first course is roughtly Programming 101 with C++ with a practical spin on it. Less theoretical than your average CS course, and if you already have attended such course with any other language, the game institute one is little more than spoon-feeding introduction to "C++" specific features on common programming concepts. The second course begins however curiously with more CS and Computer organization:ish topics such as number systems, data representation in memory, etc coupled with templates and exceptions a'la C++. From there on, the rest is just getting familiar with WinAPI to be able to use it comfortably as a "launchpad" for potential future DirectX applications. In case anyone wonders whats "really" in there... Meh. Looks like I just rephrased their course description. Oh well. Never too many posts in world... Last edited by DTR : 12-08-2009 at 10:01 AM. |
