As long as I knew ahead of time which day the meetings were held on, I would be more inclined to prepare for them mentally knowing that I wouldn't be programming for most (if any) of the day.

Agreed, as one great quote I read said, "Programmers aren't sports cars, they are more like trains. It takes a while for them to get really going and when you stop them it takes them a while to get going again." So when you have a lot of meetings you have to keep starting and stopping.

It also involves sprints, although I've only studied the technique in classes so the others could proberbly explain it more thouorghly.

It'd be worth your while to become familiar with SCRUM, as it is all the rage in game development these days.

I wish as a rugby player I was super excited the first time I heard of SCRUM. And most people don't use pure SCRUM just parts of it.
