I'd say this game already exists, and it's called Facebook.

You already submitted it? Hmm... you didn't give it much time for percolation. Do you mind posting it for us to read?

See, this is actually what I was thinking:
"Will Armstrong needs your help to get Christina the gymnast in bed! Click here to add chroloform to the hank^H^H^H^H^H^H^H roses to his bouquet!"

Haha,
That's pretty good. Seems a little OP to me though. How about you have a drink she should really try, and you have to convince her to drink it. ; D |

As far as this challenge is concerned, I've got two ideas; 1. C.U.P.I.D: The Reckoning, a first-person shooter/romance sim. (Yes, I am kidding) 2. I'm thinking on the saying "There's someone for everyone", and building a game where the player is sorting through a ton of people for a pair of matching soul mates. Something like... getting assigned a random person and then trying to track down the person they're meant to be with. I'm having a hard time sticking with the mechanics of the Romance genre, mostly because it seems like a lot of conversation menu-choices and mini-games. Also, I keep thinking this would be a great opportunity to flesh out a new type of Diplomacy system. If anyone played Sony's Vanguard MMO, they'll know that their system (Playing a card game) came off less than thrilling.

Will,
The "someone for everyone" idea is very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with it. |

As far as I am concerned -- in case it wasn't clear -- there's no reason you have to do what Tokimeki Memorial did. I mean, that was in a way the downfall of Brooktown -- the form but not the function.

You COULD do it, but making a FPS where you shoot people to make them fall in love really sounds lame. I'd like to really see people submitting stuff that really breaks the mold without going into the realm of silliness. But that's just me.
