  • The Master of Science (Computer Games Technology) program was established in 1997, and was the first degree of its kind. The faculty are accredited, the program is recognized, and in as little as ONE YEAR, you can earn this degree. It is issued by the University of Abertay Dundee in Scotland, and is taken through the Algoma U campus in Sault Ste. Marie (border city of Canada and United States, so American citizens can live in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan).

     Why take the MSc (CGT)?

    • The program has solid links and integration with the games industry;
    • The curriculum is 100% relevant to careers in computer programming/software engineering for games;
    • And every student graduating out of the program takes with them a solid programming portfolio and a game prototype, giving graduates an added edge when competing for the best jobs in the games industry and programming related industries.

    The curriculum includes, but is not limited to: AI, Game Design and Development, and Programming for XBox and PC. Companies such as Electronic Arts and Bioware seek graduates for employment, and other graduates work for such companies as SEGA, Rockstar, Realtime Worlds and Blitz Games.

    Prerequisites for the MSc (CGT):

    • Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Math, Physics, Software Engineering or a games related subject (applicants with the equivalent of a BA or BSc in another subject with a substantial background in programming and a good grounding in mathematics will also be considered);
    • Letter Grade A student or a high B student
